Splurge, much?
Oct. 11th, 2008 04:01 pmI just spend $228 on a dress. I thought about it a lot for a week, so it's not an impulse buy. I enjoy that it's handsewn and by a local artist, which to me makes it much easier to swallow the cost than if it had a famous label on it. Plus, the artist uses vintage silks from kimonos, which is cool and a half.
This is not me trying to talk away any guilt. :) I can wear this dress to work and, if I ever have cause, out. It is also not super-trendy, so it will last for years unless my body changes drastically. I'd show a picture, but I forgot my camera at work.
I would like to purchase shoes now. Not for this dress. I have a red satiny shirtdress with off-white ovals printed on it and I've no shoes to go with it. Maybe tomorrow.
On a total different tangent, I urge people to listen to Low's "Sunflower". The song always gives me a shiver, probably always will. Low is such an underrated and underplayed group.
