Shipping news
Sep. 11th, 2008 10:55 amI ordered a lovely bag from Queen Bee Creations for an overseas friend recently, a gift for her birthday. As expected, shipping costs were high. It was no problem, because she's worth it.
Except she just sent me a frantic email - when they delivered the package, they made her pay additional tax charges before she could accept it! I thought only to get it to her in the most expeditious way, and packages directly from companies can't be coded as gifts or something. Had I had it shipped to me first, and then to her everything would have been fine. Clearly I cannot let her eat the surtax charges.
All told, shipping along on this gift will cost me a lot of money and, much worse, her lots of stress.
*sigh* I need to find a way to exchange some American dollars for Euros.
I've never spent more than $200 on a bag before. I have not found it to be a very fulfilling experience.
Woe.
