Why does Jessica Simpson think she can act? Moreover, why do people keep putting her in movies?

And why do models think they should segue into acting?

And why do actors think they should segue into singing?

And why do spoiled, untalented (and pretty uncute) hotel heiresses think they can act and sing?

And why do all of the above think it's necessary to "write a book" about their damned lives?

I gots to have me spinach!

I'm so seriously freaked out and bummed about this E. coli/spinach thing! I eat fresh spinach, like, every day. Well, I used to anyway. I'm also a bit freaked that one of the brands named is Trader Joe's, and that's what I usually buy. The only reason I didn't get it this time was my sheer laziness - I didn't want to walk up the hill. I haven't become sick, clearly, but I'm still tempted to throw out what remains.
