Yes, it was at that point that I really had to contain myself. Because what if it's really a myth that Republicans have been primarily the party for the rich and for the big businesses? Heh.
The thing I find sad is that almost every single one of my Republican family members doesn't realize or care that their party is not for them - the poor, working class schlubs.
And who's to say there's not some gay farmers in Kansas who'd really like to see the movie?
Heh, no kidding. The truly funny thing about the whole conversation was that he nodded and completely agreed with me when I said gay marriage shouldn't be an issue about morality but one of human rights...five minutes later he was eyeball-popping upset about Hollywood pushing gay issues. I don't know why, because how else are people going to see this issue in those terms if they don't see it represented?
