They are ready on every street corner to pounce
And outside every grocery store. Be warned, folks. The Girl Scouts are out, and their cunning knows no bounds. I successfully avoided the bell ringing shouters downtown. The stand at which only a bedraggled adult sat, I passed right on by.
But the little munchkins outside Trader Joe's got me but good. Damn them!
Now, I could complain here about how ridiculous the price of a box of GS cookies is, but honestly - go down the cookie aisle. There are few cookies there of any quality that are more than 50ยข less. It chaps my hide that we're now paying $4/box.
Every single frozen Thin Mint will be worth it. Oh, yes.

Oh, man. I "sold" so many boxes of Thin Mints...

I mean ... shame on you. ;)

I'm sorry you were successfully ambushed by a group of Girl Scouts. But aren't Thin Mints right out of the freezer totally worth it? Isn't it awesome going to work in August, pulling out a row of Thin Mints (if they make it to August, that is), and eating them in front of your coworkers when they know they have to wait MONTHS until they get to even see another Thin Mint? Good heavens.

I don't have them waiting outside stores, but they send sign-up sheets with their parents to school and I'm compelled to buy that way! Who can say no to a doctor after all?

Doctor: Would you please get on this scale?
Me: NO!
Tee hee.

So I lie.
"I already bought cookies from my niece...sorry." It works well, even with the groups sitting outside at the grocery store, the dump, even waving signs on the street outside the scout house.
Those little girls are dangerous!

Now I feel totally ripped off. ;)

fond memories of the days when your innocent self was sent out in the wilds of unknown neighborhoods with an order sheet and your itchy uniform to sell those cookies. sure usually a parent would be parked with a book & the window down somewhere in vague sight. but you won't catch a GS or Brownie actually walking the street anymore.
I guess this means I'm going to have to go to walmart, i'm sure they'll be camped (heee) out there.
WANT ME COOKIESSSSSS!
(think i'll go find a cookie monster icon now)

I think it's a very good thing I was never a Girl Scout. I never would have survived all those cookies.
