Personally?
I think that in a discussion about Vala on Stargate when someone brings up the previous misdeeds of any member of SG-1 in comparison to her actions, the debate is then forfeit just like that one rule about invoking Nazism.
Because it's just insane.

I wonder what would have happened if Vala had joined up in season 7 or 8?

I would have been gone a long time ago.

I know the writer's plans. It involves a "Jedi hand wave" and if that doesn't work, Plan B involves ignoring the issue and ignoring any fans who question it.

It could be worse, they could get the idea to change canon completely, a la Lucas... um... I'd better not say anything else.

If they tried, we'd suddenly learn that Sam and Jack were married in season four, with a special pass from the President. It was an open secret for their friends, including General Hammond, but they kept it kept it under wraps so they could stay assigned to the same team and not jeopardize Earth's safety by not being together.

And do be quiet about the Jedi hand wave, the PTBs might somehow end up getting ideas that would be very bad. Granted most recent eps make it easier find cannon fodder for the breadbox eps.

The expression "shooting fish in a barrel" comes to mind. It's almost too easy to do, so it's not nearly as much fun.

They won't listen until people stop watching, and even then they won't figure out why people stopped watching. Sad.
