o.O

You know, you can come across some very interesting (read: disturbing) things by browsing flisters' flists.

I'm just sayin'.

You can *not* just leave it at that.

Ooh, gang? That means she's *SHOCKABLE*!!!

LOOSE THE HOUNDS!!!!

Um. Sorry. I guess that was my outside voice. ;-);-)

LOL!

Well, there are things that squick me, too.

Shocking, I know. :-)

I like celery. I've *written* mpreg (though there is a LOT of crap out there - it's not CUTE! Pregnancy of any kind - it's not CUTE! It's HARD!), 2nd person is a tough one. In general, I gotta agree, but I have seen it used well.

Right there with you on the incest and raspberries. I'll add RPF, stupid pairings and telepathy (or other super powers) without explanation.

Hey, if it's not your cuppa, isn't not.

And you're right. You *can't* pair just anyone. NO ONE CAN. At least not successfully. What that tells me is that the writer in question is far more interested in how they can twist the characters than in trying to keep them at ALL true to their personalities.

I can handle *some* long lost relatives. I've read some that really stank, though. I don't mind the concept, just the far too common execution.

LOL!!!!! That's pretty sad. ;-)

And yeah, crossovers are tricky. I've done one, but it wasn't done idly and if we hadn't figured out how to make it work, we wouldn't have done it at all. Not only do the premises have to meld, but the flavor has to.

Everyone has the right to write crap if they wish.

The rest of us have the right to wish we didn't have to see it. :-);-)

Some universes blend pretty easily. X-Files and Highlander, for example. Of *course* Mulder has a file on decapitations in his office. A pretty big one, at that. :-) It's also normal for Mulder and Scully (the show ended for me when they ditched Mulder) to go haring off to wherever they need to be, so going to Seattle wouldn't be an issue.

Yep.

I couldn't, for example, see a Stargate/X-Men crossover working. It's just too... just too. :-)

I don't blame you on the celery. Raspberries the fruit is good. Raspberries on baby tummies is bearable, otherwise.... :/ Mpreg I can tolerate only when it does not involve male pregnancies, but I guess that really, truly isn't mpreg. And 2nd person? Rarely done in anyway other than annoying.

There the "Rodney & John touched an ancient device that took DNA samples and is now incubating their child in it" stories. I also prefer if they end very shortly after "birth" because I'm not so crazy about baby stories.

I'm very picky.

I agree with you about the artsy stories in most of the time they are incredibly pretentious.

Okay so now I'm wanting to go trolling your flisters' flists...

I keep thinking, "Oh, I hope it's mine! I hope it's mine!"

Disturbing is good.

Embarrassing is not.

Or so my 14 year old tells me. ;-)

My kid has told me on any number of occasions that she's so happy I don't embarrass her like her friends' mothers do. She'll then follow it up by telling me I'm disturbing, instead.

I think she still thinks it's kinda weird that I know some of her music. :-)

I have a varied f-list and the weirdest stuff tends to show up on mine. I could well be the culprit. There's no way I've found to exclude MPREG posts from the fic groups I watch.

He does have the ability to distract from any topic, doesn't he?

*pervs along with you*
