Not a whole lot to say tonight. Automatically better this week than last just because no Jo and no Ellen and no Ash and no Roadhouse. ;)

Don't get me wrong. It wasn't terrible. But if I wanted to watch a procedural cop drama (albeit this one had a supernatural twist) I'd have tuned into something else.

Dean: Good. Love the snark. Love the video camera shots - seriously, he was even prettier in blue.

Sam: Good. Getting pretty smooth at lying - loved how his story totally didn't match what they showed us.

The rest? Not so scary and more mystery/cop drama than supernatural. It was nice that they acknowledged St. Louis - would have been nice to have seen more of that. Personally, I don't know how they could pin it on Dean anyway - the cops wouldn't have had any DNA evidence and now that they've exhumed the shapeshifter's body, they should re-check everything, no?

I don't see how letting them go is going to really help them in the long run. For all they know, the little woman is going to just blame them for what happened to Pete. Yeah, I know she won't...but they've already used the "cop lets them go" schtick, damnit. And couldn't she have just shot her partner in the arm or kneecap or something?

The Hilts/McQueen thing was cute, but the Rockford thing? Did Sam really think Dean was going to get out of there to meet up with him? Peek-a-boo, convenient plot device, I see you! ;)

This would have been SO much better had they actually put Sam and Dean together. I get why they weren't, but like I've said - I pout when I don't get my quota of brotherliness.

In other news, hottie neighbor's hottie brother knocked on my door just after I'd put on a facial cleansing mask. Dude has got the worst timing in the world.

Oh, yeah. This definitely wasn't my favorite episode. I think I liked it way more than I normally would have just because Ellen, Jo, Ash, and The Roadhouse weren't there. *g* That was a HUGE, huge, huge, huge plus for me. *G*

I liked the Rockford Files reference, though. I don't think Sam really thought Dean was going to get away, but went to regroup and plan what to do--maybe solve the case to get Dean off the hook. (Okay, that's a huge wank. *g*)

My problem with that whole thing is that...well, they are very guilty of credit card fraud and other types of fraud, and they're guilty of impersonated police officers and, as noted in the previouslies, numerous other persons.

Still, I'm with you that the case in St. Louis thing really doesn't seem like it would hold up. Once they exhume the body, they're going to see that it was either someone exactly like Dean and/or whatever it may have reverted into after they buried it. I'm also reasonably sure that lots of people would have seen the body before it was buried.

Yeah, that bugged me, too, and I wasn't sure if I liked the episode or not when I first watched it. There were some lovely moments between the brothers, but not enough of them.

Still, it worked for me well enough for a one-off episode. I definitely don't want the show to be *about* them running from the law or for it to become a police procedural, but I wouldn't mind if *this* cop became their contact now and again.

(I actually think this episode was more like NYPD Blue, more of a character drama, than a show like CSI. And thank goodness! *g*)

Yeah, I do know what you mean and you're right. While watching this...I felt it could go either way. There was stuff that bugged me and stuff I liked. I think they put in a *lot* of the "guy connection" stuff to make up for the fact that the guys weren't *together* for so much of the episode. I also thought it was hard to see Dean stuck in the police station and Sam got to go off and do everything, but it was only one episode and Sam was barely in the previous episode, and at least this one didn't have Dean doing virtually nothing--his part was important, too. *g* And I did love the evidence of the brotherlove even if we didn't get to see it quite as much.

Yeah, I thought that was all odd, too, when I watched that episode. It seemed an odd way to bring it all back up, though. It wasn't like Dean fell out of airplane and they never found the body. They buried the body of the killer and many people saw it.
