PS

Whomever the genius is who decided it would be cute to smush people's names who are dating (or, in fictional terms, who people want paired up) together should be put in prison. Or dipped in hot oil. Brangelina? Oy, that's lame.

How did that become so mainstream that the media does it now? It was bad enough in fandom.

Ugh, I know. Join the club. (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=hating+mushed+ship+names)

Though I liked Bennifer, because I liked to mock them with it's stupidness.

It's been happening for ages now. I always thought that the media is what influenced the fandoms. Because Brangelina and Bennifer are really old now.

I'd only heard it in fandom over the past year or two. But then again, I rather hate those stupid abbreviated names, so I tend to remain purfosefully ignorant of them.

The first time I had heard of them was with SGA. Now, I know of Smallville. I think people are trying to get it going in SG-1, but I never really see it stick.

I've seen several attempts to use it in SG-1, but I think most of the fans are rather set in their ways and it hasn't taken. Seriously, is it that difficult to write Jack/Daniel or J/D?

I hear you. About the only smush I'll use is McShep, but at least that one's easy to figure out if you're in the fandom.

Some of them leave me scratching my head about who's in the story, which is not something that makes me want to read it. Especially for fandoms that I'm not heavily into, I feel like I need a translator to tell me what the hell I'm about the read.
