Old Lady Perfume

No offense to old ladies intended, of course. All day yesterday and already this morning, there's this smell of old lady in my office. I can't figure out where it's coming from - I'm fragranced with strawberry lemonade. It's starting to drive me batty.

Total aside, I think I like Ray LaMontagne's version of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy a lot more than the original.

Strange. It'll drive me nuts too! Especially since some perfumes set off my allergies.

Is this that moth-ball-bad-breath smell? I'd look for something weird in the garbage and start passing out gum.

Is it that lavender bathroom spray smell?

I'd go get an orange and peel it. Eat the orange, put the peels in your trash can, and you should drive away the smell! (We actually have a lot of people coming through with kids in dirty diapers, so we keep a can of citrus spray on hand. Not quite as good as the real thing, but it works.)

I've had something similar happen a few times in the library. If there's no obvious culprit, such as an old lady causing other patrons' eyes to water, I usually find it's old lady perfume on a book.

They wear so much, and often use scented handcreme, that the books stink. Happens with cigarettes and sometimes even drinks (such as someone got a couple of drops of coffee on a book jacket and I could smell it from several feet away). We have disinfectent wipes that usually kill most of the smell.

Anyone brought anything into your office that could be the culprit?
