Hair woes.

I've been delaying making a hair appointment for a couple of reasons. Highest on the list is that I wasn't happy with the last cut, or rather my inability to style the last cut. Because of the bad experience last time, I'm nervous. I always stress that a style has to be easy and doable for an idiot like me, and if the hair stylist doesn't listen even just once I get worried. And this is how I end up with straight long hair all the time, btw. One or two bad cuts scare me into never going back.

So I hemmed and hawed and just called now. T is going on vacation, and they can't get me in until 7/12. I'm already a shaggy monster. I'm gonna look awful by then. Really and truly. And with no guarantees I'll look any better once I've been cleaned up and trimmed...

Wah, right? ;)

My hair does gravity, nothing else.
I always demand the cut should look fine even if I leave it to dry naturally and WITHOUT products. I don't use em, so no use them using them to make me look pwetty.
If I don't trust them I make them prove it by just blow drying it.
Now (of course) I do blow-dry and sometimes even use products, but it seems to get the message across better when I don't mention that;-).

Luckily I have found a salon who I actually trust. Maybe ask around? Random strangers with your hair type who have a decent cut?;-)

Good luck!!!

I've had a lot of people tell me how much they like my really long hair. I just smile and nod. The thing is the length really is just about indecision, not, you know, any kind of style statement! I am with 100% about hinky stylists. I literally have not been to one in years. But since I'm starting a new job soon seem like I should spiffy up. I'll be shopping around for a new stylist soon. Good luck to us both!

Wow, haircuts all around! I'm getting mine done too...Travellingone recommended her guy to me so I've got a consultation with him tomorrow. I haven't had mine done since last December and that was just a trim - my hair is sooo long now and stringy and gross and I hate washing it because then I have to comb it after...ugh. I'm going to see what he suggests - I too need something easy since I sleep in as late as humanly possible without being majorly late for work, and that ain't gonna change ;)

I'm thinking I may go short. Really short. We'll see.

I know how that is. When I first moved here, I got a great haircut and I loved it, but after it grew out, every cut I got after that really sucked, so then I'd put off going. A new place opened up not too far from here, and I got a great cut there a couple of months ago. I'm almost as afraid to go back for fear that they'll mess it up the next time.
