Hair woes.
I've been delaying making a hair appointment for a couple of reasons. Highest on the list is that I wasn't happy with the last cut, or rather my inability to style the last cut. Because of the bad experience last time, I'm nervous. I always stress that a style has to be easy and doable for an idiot like me, and if the hair stylist doesn't listen even just once I get worried. And this is how I end up with straight long hair all the time, btw. One or two bad cuts scare me into never going back.
So I hemmed and hawed and just called now. T is going on vacation, and they can't get me in until 7/12. I'm already a shaggy monster. I'm gonna look awful by then. Really and truly. And with no guarantees I'll look any better once I've been cleaned up and trimmed...
Wah, right? ;)

I always demand the cut should look fine even if I leave it to dry naturally and WITHOUT products. I don't use em, so no use them using them to make me look pwetty.
If I don't trust them I make them prove it by just blow drying it.
Now (of course) I do blow-dry and sometimes even use products, but it seems to get the message across better when I don't mention that;-).
Luckily I have found a salon who I actually trust. Maybe ask around? Random strangers with your hair type who have a decent cut?;-)
Good luck!!!

LOL, how do you tell someone has your hair type?

I don't mind change, really, as long as I can style it myself, and with minimal effort. To me, standing with a flat iron trying to make the flippiness stop flipping is too much work. Plus, if I succeed it is only for a little while. Five minutes, I've timed, where my hair looks smooth and flat and un-flippy. After that? Flippity do-dah!
For you, I'd suggest finding someone content with simple styling, and letting you keep said simple style for more than two haircuts. :)
Sigh, such drama about the follicles.

I'm thinking I may go short. Really short. We'll see.

Oh, do tell if you do. I was watching Charmed (hangs head shamefully) the other day, and Alyssa Milano had super short hair that looked fabulous. I wish I could pull that off. I don't have the face for it, I don't think. But it would be SO easy.

Charmed was a decent show when it first came out...at least I enjoyed it. Stopped watching after a few seasons, I got bored. Hehe.

He told me to think of them as highlights and changed the part. ANH.
Good luck when you go back!

Seriously, though. Grey hairs might be "highlights" for some, but with my darkish hair and the fact that my greys are actually whites? NOT highlights.

I always thought I'd never color my hair, but when my hair gets more grey, I might want to, if only because I think coloring it changes that witchy look--or at least, I've seen that work for other people. :-)

Ah, well. I always told myself I wasn't going to freak out about this stuff. It's hard not to, though!
