SPN: The Magnificent Seven
I had to go to my flist to look up the title.
Okay, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I liked the hunter couple and was glad at least one of them survived. Killing the black people only halfway is, I suppose, mildly better than killing them both.
I do not like Dean like this. Yeah, I can get his motivation, but seriously - he's being kind of an ass. I just can't quite reconcile him willfully behaving like this, knowing what it did to him to have Sam die on him. He's acting like it's no big deal the reverse is going to happen, and that's pretty callous if you ask me. Hopefully he'll get over it, because I'm siding heavily with Sam on the issue. I'm not sure Dean embracing his inner selfishness is the way for him to go in the remaining days of his life.
Meh. Blonde skinny girl saves the day and walks away. Oooh, how mysterious. Meh. Do not like that she's in the credits, thanks much. She could have been worse. I suspect she will be soon.
The whole thing felt...different. It was lit differently. Directed differently. Even the opening teaser with the guy getting demonized seemed...crisper, somehow. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I suppose it's good that I'll be able to see the eye candy better, but I don't think I can stick around only for the eye candy if the show is given a swirly (or two) by TPTB.
Everyone's gunning for Sam now. I mean, still. Heh. I did like that scene because Sam looked so darn cute.
There were a few almost-moments that I enjoyed, but overall I'm left uneasy. I don't want to be uneasy after a season opener. I want to be blown away, damnit.
So it was kind of like that for me.
Plus, OH DAMNIT I think a story I'm writing is going to look like a rip off of next week's episode and I don't know if I should continue it. I SWEAR I had the idea a long time before I even started writing it. I don't read spoilers, so I really didn't know. It'll be AU anyway, because my S3 is NOT going to go like the real one, I can already tell, just based on Dean. Hmmm.
PS, I just saw the dumbest preview for a Bloody Mary Ghost Whisperer. It looked ridiculous. Of course, that could be my strange love for SPN's Bloody Mary raising its hackles.

I don't like Ruby (I think that's the one we saw last night). When you have to slow things down so she looks cool, that's not good. I prefer Jo to her (*ducks*). I am intrigued by the knife though, can't wait to find out the story to that. And I'm looking forward to meeting the other one, Bela, she looked pretty cool in the images I've seen and the fact she is a thief and not a hunter makes for something a bit different. Again, we'll see how it plays out.

I hope it goes away, because I swear I find him less physically attractive like this. I know I'm weird, but...

No need to duck. I've said for a while now that I find it a copout of TPTB to dump Jo in favour of a new hottie rather than try to fix what they messed up. I mean, if they HAVE to add "kick ass" females, I'd rather they fix rather than reinvent.
I find Ruby annoying because I'm getting a distinct guardian angel vibe from her. She's focused only on Sam. Sam doesn't need a guardian angel, he's got Dean...so if he needs a guardian angel, that means he might not have Dean. I know, I'm weird... ;)

I also agree that they could have worked with the Jo character.....I don't think they could ever turn her into a love interest for Dean (if that was their original intention)...besides the face that there are no sparks of that kind between them, she's too young!! And quite frankly she's not Sam's type. But they could have done something, I don't know, I didn't mind the little sister vibe I got and that could have been interesting..Dean's always looked after a little brother, would be interesting to see what he did with a sister. And I did like Elle, she was almost kind of the mom they never had.....
Oooh good call on the guardian angel bit, I didn't think of that although I did notice that she seemed to single Sam out. Wonder what the deal is there....

I didn't care for that vibe from Ellen, but she wasn't as awful as she could have been. I'd rather see them try to work on Jo AND Ellen than scrap them and try again with new people. Frankly, I still don't think they need to expand the cast. I'm harsh that way.

Unfortunately, I think we'll find out. ;)
I do hope they lay off the "building a mystery" thing. It's almost always a let down when they get to the punchline.
She got the most groan-worthy line of the night, and there was a LOT of clunky dialogue.
