I gots to have me spinach!
I'm so seriously freaked out and bummed about this E. coli/spinach thing! I eat fresh spinach, like, every day. Well, I used to anyway. I'm also a bit freaked that one of the brands named is Trader Joe's, and that's what I usually buy. The only reason I didn't get it this time was my sheer laziness - I didn't want to walk up the hill. I haven't become sick, clearly, but I'm still tempted to throw out what remains.

I'm sorry about the spinach, but they are recommending that nobody buy/eat the bagged spinach for now--or at least, that's what I just read. I'd toss out the spinach that you have now. :-(

Anyway, I don't know what's up with produce in the last couple of years, but I rarely even buy any of it any more because it's all so gross.

E.coli is not to be fooled around with...and it could taint just part of a bag.
I want to plant a garden so that I know what's been around my veggies. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy and don't have space anyway. :(

I'd love tomatoes and spinach and peas, at the very least.

I'm not saying you shouldn't try... just saying we've got to get on top of this BS as a nation. It's crazy.
I'm pretty bummed about the spinach, too. Not just for me, but for Kiwi. I threw out our current batch and got her some broccoli and green beans (spinach has always been the only green she'd eat). To my shock, she gobbled up the broccoli like it was a treat, so I guess that's going to work find for her.
But dammit, I love salads and in particular fresh spinach.
