A hair's breadth

Protagonist is still bleeding on the bathroom floor, poor guy. Yeah, I know I shouldn't be here, I shoudl be rescuing him.

Instead, I went for a quick walk and stopped off at a local pharmacy. For some time now, I have lamented my stick-straight hair. I want some body, but I am loath to perm and curling irons are really not that great for the hair. So today I bought hot rollers.

I think they could work. Unfortunately, even something so easy and rolling up my hair is a trick beyond my hair capability. I am so hair stupid, it's not even funny. Attempts at cute, stylish cuts usually last a few months, and then I end up back with long, straight hair - wash and go, pretty much.

How does one get better at rolling up hair in curlers? The back of the head is impossible, I tell you.

You could bun your hair. Put it in a damp bun on the top of your head, and sleep on it or let it dry the rest of the day, then it will be wavy when it comes down. You could also make a ponytail, then section off the tail and put the secions in rollers. You could also plop it: http://www.naturallycurly2.com/curlscene/articles.php?id=140.

Good luck!

I'm just past the point of 'How the hell can I get this hair stick/fork to work right', into the 'OMG it works!' stage. Practice, practice, practice! :)

I always wanted long, straight hair :: pouts ::

The good thing, since I've been colouring my hair, in the winter, when there's no humidity in the air, like now... my hair's 85% straight. Except it's short, not long.

What I wouldn't give for, "wash and go" hair! I spend almost 45 minutes everyday trying to blow dry enough of the frizzy curl out of my hair that it resembles hair rather than rabid snakes. *shakes head*

Yeah, practice with curlers will help but if you never develop the skill keep in mind that straight hair is shiny hair. It reflects light uniformly and thus is more likely to appear lush and healthy. Watch those shampoo commercials carefully. All those models with glorious, lustrous locks? Straight hair.
