Dogs smell disgusting. How do people get over that? He's already funked up all the blankets and the sofa. Ugh, phew.

Is there anything better than a drink of cold water after brushing your teeth? I love that.

I'm with you. While I can admire how pretty and loyal and funny some dogs can be, I can't get past the smell.

What made the red lights? Is that a blanket with sunlight through window shades?

Any of the hounds smell worse than the average dog, too, to me. I just now have this pressure to make it work despite my own physical discomfort. Walter doesn't deserve to die because he gives me a headache and itchy eyes... however, he has also started going for the cats when I am trying to play with them. Hank gets beat up by everyone, his one refuge is being able to play and hunt with me. He doesn't need to be scared of a jealous dog running after him during that time. I need to figure out how to work it. Dogs are also very "where'd you go, I missed you soooooo much" when you leave one room and come back 30 seconds later, which I find exhausting rather than endearing.

Ugh, the worst is that I consciously chose this though I know about myself that I am a cat person through and through.

Yep, that's the chair in my bedroom with the lights coming through closed blinds. I thought it looked kind of cool.

Yes, exactly. My friend who is a dog lover thought it was so adorable that, while she was pregnant, her dog would follow her to the bathroom and back to bed, no matter how many times she had to get up in the night. And I thought, all that focused attention - how exhausting.

The dandelion photo makes me think of fireworks.
