Ok, just looked the character up and got a bit of a low down on the actor, too. He, the actor, was born in Ft. Worth, so it's possible he has that same generic Mid-America (as opposed to Mid-Western) non-accent I've got. Ft. Worth's not all that large, but being a sort of Siamese twin to Dallas would facilitate that.

Still, no drawl.

They want drawl, they should hit the state outside the large cities. Oh. My. Goodness. There are places in East Texas alone where you'd swear they must be speaking English, but there's no way in hell you can understand a word they say. :-)
