Just their expressions in that cage while Teal'c's body lay there - even though they were prepared to carry on, you could actually see it affected them. That got lost a bit in later seasons. It was like the writers assumed everyone knew it was there, and no longer had to make the characters show anything.

I don't care how many times they're in danger, they shouldn't lose that emotion.
