I don't think the rape is what I found disturbing, though. I mean, yes. Rape is always disturbing. What bothered me was the whole presentation of it as "sexual intrigue" and an "indiscretion" instead of what it actually was. Surely a nominee for the Supreme Court would realize that a rape trial is better than...being blackmailed because you got raped, if not immediately after the trauma, then somewhere along the way!
