Wouldn't it be better to wait until you know for sure? Am I wrong about the etiquette for this? I always thought that it's not a good idea to tell one's current employer that one is considering looking for another job until one actually has the other job. This is sort of the same thing, isn't it?

The thing is, in order for a new apartment place to verify my current address/tenancy, they have to, y'know, talk to the manager. Would it be better for him to get that call cold? I dunno. Maybe I've shot myself in the foot, maybe not. We'll find out.
