12 step program?

Hi, my name is SBG and I'm an Internet addict.

No, seriously. The first thing I did when I got home was turn on my computer and check email. The days of me getting a million messages from lists and groups has long since passed. I wasn't expecting an email. But I still had to turn the computer on and connect

I go away now, to do something productive. We'll see how long that lasts.

LOL That's me. I don't get tons of email from lists and groups any more, and my small group of friends that used to email each other zillions of time each day has long since died down. Still...I'm always checking email or (now) LJ all the time.

My internet was out again this afternoon and I didn't know what to do with myself. I had only an hour between things I had to do, and I had planned to spend it catching up on LJ stuff. Since I couldn't do that, instead of doing something really productive, I watched Gilmore Girls and cleaned up stuff. *g*

Whyever would you wish to stop this behavior?

When my internet went down, it was Photoshop that kept my beloved computer from being little more than a fancy paperweight. I never realized precisely how much of my personal computer time is spent online.
