I gots to have me spinach!

I'm so seriously freaked out and bummed about this E. coli/spinach thing! I eat fresh spinach, like, every day. Well, I used to anyway. I'm also a bit freaked that one of the brands named is Trader Joe's, and that's what I usually buy. The only reason I didn't get it this time was my sheer laziness - I didn't want to walk up the hill. I haven't become sick, clearly, but I'm still tempted to throw out what remains.

I was reading more about this, though, and they said that lettuce (or anything leafy) is particularly susceptible to this. They don't even know if this is something that was in the soil that the plants absorbed (?) through the roots or something like that.

Anyway, I don't know what's up with produce in the last couple of years, but I rarely even buy any of it any more because it's all so gross.
