There's no way I can justify spending a ton of money replacing my good diamond earrings (le sigh), but I've been considering a swap for another gemstone. It's a bit elementary school, but I thought I'd stick with birthstone. If I can find the right thing, it won't be so bad. It's just that I hate, hate, hate December's birthstone options. Turquoise? Not my thing. Blue Topaz reminds me of being five. I have found that tanzanite is now considered an acceptable December stone. That one could work. That one is also, of course, the most expensive of the three, but it's still way less than diamonds.

Why couldn't I have been born in March? Or September? Aquamarine is lovely, as is sapphire.

I guess it could be worse. I could be stuck with opal. At least my stone color is in the blue family, as that seems to be where I lean. :)
