Sep. 29th, 2019 10:14 amWe've already been having Weather. Was awoken at 2 AM on Saturday morning by lightning and thunder and hail. Just torrential rain this morning, but it still woke me because it's also been cool; no need for fan, which made the sudden noise very loud.
It's now sunny and beautiful. So, there's that.
^Went out with Walter a couple of nights ago, and this guy stood not three feet from my front steps. I think he was snacking on my lilac, the jerk. Walter immediately tried to lunge (he usually does not pay attention to deer) and the buck just huffed at us. Did not budge. I said, "Okay, sir, we'll just go down here..." and got W back in as quickly as possible. I wasn't nervous or anything, just aware. But I showed this picture to some family and instead of ooh and ahs I got, "OMG, you could have been hurt!" Maybe I've become desensitized to deer. Now, had it been an elk... The sidelong look is only because of the flash, he never once otherwise averted his stare from me.
