Two Christmas songs I loathe

I believe Silent Night and Away in a Manger suck. I hate them. The first because no one save perhaps a professional can sing it, and the second because awwww, isn't it cute to see the little kids in the choir sing that song? Overkill at an early age.

Maybe this makes me a scrooge, because SN is often touted as 'the most beloved of all Christmas carols' and here I hate the blasted tune.

I'm not overly fond of O Holy Night, either.

Two Christmas carols that I love

A French tune called He Is Born, but I only like it instrumental. Sometimes words get in the way.

The Peace Carol. The only version I've ever heard is by the Muppets, so I can only guess it's way lovelier when real people sing it.

I also love Coventry Carol, Wexford Carol and Greensleeves (which isn't a Christmas tune per se, but I think Christians grabbed the melody and religioused up some alt. lyrics to it and now I can't remember what it's called but I like this one without words as well, so I don't know that it matters). ;)

(no subject)

Whoa.

I just logged into to the place I shipped salmon from last year...and discovered the shipping costs twice as much as the product. And the product isn't cheap. I don't think I paid that much last year. It must be due to the late date, which is my own fault, but jeeeeez! $65 shipping for a $31 order?

So I guess that's out.
